PM to Visit Bihar on April 24 for Panchayati Raj Day Celebrations

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Bihar on 24th April 2025. During his visit to Madhubani, he will participate in the National Panchayati Raj Day celebrations at around 11:45 AM. On this occasion, he will inaugurate, dedicate, and lay the foundation stone for several development projects worth over Rs 134 bn, and will address the public gathering.

As part of the programme, the Prime Minister will present the National Panchayat Awards, honouring the best-performing Panchayats from across the country.

In the railways sector, Prime Minister Modi will flag off the Amrit Bharat Express between Saharsa and Mumbai, the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail between Jaynagar and Patna, and new train services between Pipra-Saharsa and Saharsa-Samastipur. Additionally, he will inaugurate the Supaul-Pipra rail line, Hasanpur-Bithan rail line, and two two-lane rail overbridges at Chapra and Bagaha. He will also dedicate the Khagaria-Alauli rail line to the nation, which is expected to enhance connectivity and drive regional socio-economic development.

Furthering women’s empowerment and rural development, the Prime Minister will distribute benefits worth ?930 crore to over 2 lakh Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in Bihar under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM).

He will also hand over sanction letters to 15 lakh new beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G), release instalments to 10 lakh PMAY-G beneficiaries nationwide, and ceremonially hand over keys to some of the beneficiaries of 1 lakh PMAY-G houses and 54,000 PMAY-Urban houses in Bihar, marking a major stride in the government’s mission of ‘Housing for All’.
