Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated 1,675 newly constructed flats for residents of JJ clusters and handed over keys to eligible beneficiaries at Swabhiman Apartments in Ashok Vihar, Delhi. This marks the Delhi Development Authority's (DDA) second successful In-Situ Slum Rehabilitation Project, aimed at improving housing for the underprivileged. Additionally, nearly 3,000 new homes are under construction in the city, with plans to make thousands more available in the coming year. Eligible beneficiaries contribute a nominal amount, paying less than 7 per cent of the total construction cost, which includes Rs 30,000 for five years of maintenance and Rs 1.42 lakh as a minimum contribution. To further accelerate Delhi's infrastructural growth, the Central Government is expediting the development of the Narela sub-city.

The redevelopment initiatives include two significant projects. The World Trade Centre (WTC) at Nauroji Nagar replaces over 600 outdated quarters with modern commercial skyscrapers, providing over 34 lakh square feet of premium business space equipped with advanced facilities like solar energy generation, rainwater harvesting systems, and a zero-discharge concept. This project exemplifies sustainable urban planning through green building techniques. The General Pool Residential Accommodation (GPRA) Type-II Quarters at Sarojini Nagar, comprising 28 buildings with more than 2,500 modern residential units, focuses on efficient space utilization and eco-friendly designs. The project incorporates solar-powered garbage compactors, sewage and water treatment facilities, and rainwater harvesting systems, promoting eco-conscious urban living.

In the field of education, the Prime Minister inaugurated CBSE's Integrated Office Complex in Dwarka. Designed as an environmentally friendly structure in compliance with the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) Platinum Rating standards, the complex features an auditorium, state-of-the-art offices, a computer center, and an advanced water management system. At Delhi University, he laid the foundation stone for three new projects worth over Rs 6 billion. These projects include the Western Campus at Dwarka, the Eastern Campus at Surajmal Vihar in East Delhi, and Veer Savarkar College in Roshanpura, Najafgarh, which will be equipped with cutting-edge educational facilities. Together, these initiatives reflect the government’s dedication to sustainable urban development, improved housing, and enhanced educational infrastructure in Delhi.
