Nellore Nagaravanam Set to Become State’s Largest Park
The Nellore Nagaravanam near Kothur in Amancherla is set to become Andhra Pradesh’s largest park, with the Forest Department awaiting final Rs 600 thousand in central funds to complete the project.

Launched in 2017, the project has already developed 50 hectares with a combined investment of Rs 35 Mn from both the state and Centre. Spread across 125 hectares, the park offers eco-friendly features such as trekking tracks, open gyms, musical fountains, and children’s play areas.

District Forest Officer Mehaboob Basha stated that the park will be fully operational within three months of receiving the pending funds. “We are developing this as the largest park in the State,” he said. Open daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., the park charges Rs 20 for adults and Rs 10 for children. Event halls and photography permits are also available, with the park generating an average monthly income of Rs 300 thousand.

Officials are planning to allow film shoots to promote tourism and boost revenue. Environmentalists view the project as essential to urban biodiversity and recreation.
