Mysuru to Get Rs 100-Cr Bus Terminal

A new bus terminal worth Rs 100 crore has been proposed in Mysuru’s Banni Mantap area to alleviate congestion in the city’s primary bus stands and improve public transportation efficiency. The project, designed by the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), aims to redistribute the heavy commuter load from the city’s central bus depot and reduce traffic congestion in surrounding areas.

The proposed terminal will feature modern amenities, multiple platforms, waiting areas, and facilities for seamless passenger transfer to other transportation modes. KSRTC also plans for advanced infrastructure at the terminal to accommodate electric and CNG buses, promoting environmentally friendly travel options.

This terminal is expected to cater to the rising passenger traffic in Mysuru, which has been driven by urbanization and increased tourism. With the completion of this terminal, KSRTC aims to boost the city’s transit infrastructure, enhance commuter convenience, and address long-standing traffic issues in central Mysuru.
