Jindal Advanced Materials Plans Fivefold Increase in FRP Rebar Capacity by FY26
Currently, Jindal Advanced Materials operates with a capacity of 2,500 metric tons per annum (MTPA) for FRP rebars. With the planned expansion, this capacity is expected to surge to 12,500 MTPA within the next two years. This move underscores the company's strategic response to capitalise on the escalating need for advanced materials in infrastructure development, particularly in projects requiring long-lasting, maintenance-free solutions.
FRP rebars are gaining traction due to their superior properties compared to traditional steel rebars, including resistance to corrosion, lightweight nature, and high strength-to-weight ratio. These characteristics make FRP rebars ideal for various applications such as bridges, highways, and buildings, where durability and structural integrity are paramount.
Jindal Advanced Materials, part of the OP Jindal Group, remains committed to enhancing its manufacturing capabilities to meet the evolving demands of the construction industry. By expanding its FRP rebar production capacity, the company aims to strengthen its position as a key player in providing sustainable and innovative solutions for infrastructure projects nationwide.
