Indore Development Authority Unveils Rs 15.08 Bn Budget for 2025-26
In addition to core infrastructure projects, the budget has also made provisions for non-planned expenditures that cover areas such as art and culture, education, and sports. Preparations for the 2028 Simhastha Kumbh have also been prioritized, particularly the construction of flyovers on the MR-11 and MR-12 master plan roads to manage expected traffic surges during the event.
As part of long-term transport infrastructure planning, the IDA has proposed the development of two new Inter-State Bus Terminals (ISBTs). One is planned on the Bhopal bypass route, and the other on Dhar Road near Chandan Nagar. A proposal has also been made to relocate Chhawani Mandi to Morod to support urban decongestion.
The budget includes significant allocations for specific development areas: Rs 4.32 billion for road development, Rs 2.42 billion for electrification projects, Rs 2 billion for flyover construction, Rs 1.22 billion for deposit work, and Rs 380 million for enhancing greenery.
Officials present at the budget meeting included Municipal Commissioner Shivam Verma, Forest Officer Pradeep Mishra, Additional Collector Jyoti Sharma, and Joint Director of the Town and Country Planning Department Subhashish Banerjee.
