Himachal CM Inaugurates Rs 1 Bn Projects in Rohru
Among other inaugurations were a Government Ayurvedic Hospital built at a cost of Rs 279 million, the Chunjar-Katlah, Shalan, and Melthi-Kupri water supply schemes costing ?392 million, and a drinking water scheme for Rohru's rural areas developed for Rs 503 million.
The Chief Minister laid the foundation for road projects worth Rs 517 million, including the strengthening of several key roads such as Podhar-Mandiyori-Karasa, Seema-Ratnari, and Samoli-Parsa. He also announced the construction of a hostel at Seema College, Rohru, to be built at a cost of Rs 82.5 million.
During the annual function at Government College Seema, Sukhu announced that the college would be renamed after former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and that a B.Ed. course would commence in the next academic session. Plans to construct a multipurpose building for the college were also revealed.
Criticising the previous BJP government, Sukhu alleged they had opened 900 educational and health institutions without budgetary provisions, adversely affecting quality. He assured that the current administration is making decisive moves in public interest, including introducing vocational courses to improve education quality and employment prospects for students.
Encouraging students, the Chief Minister emphasised the importance of hard work and dedication and administered an oath against drug use. Education Minister Rohit Thakur also highlighted government efforts, mentioning the approval of 15,000 posts across the education sector to address recruitment and promotion gaps left by the previous administration.
