Electric Mover

Shenu Agarwal, Managing Director and CEO, Ashok Leyland, helms the company, which commenced delivery of its electric trucks to Billion Electric Mobility. Highlighting the significance of this development, he said this could very well be the country's largest order of electric trucks, while noting that production will be scaled gradually at the company's upcoming modular facility in Hosur.

The delivery includes models such as the AVTR 55T Electric, BOSS 19T Electric and BOSS 14T Electric trucks. Shenu Agarwal mentioned that the BOSS Electric is the first electric truck in India's intermediate commercial vehicle (ICV) range while the AVTR 55T electric tractor is the first 4x2 electric tractor to be commercially offered by an Indian commercial vehicle manufacturer. In the current scenario, with the total cost of ownership for electric vehicles steadily declining, achieving parity with traditional fuels is within reach, reducing India's dependency on oil imports.
