Centre to provide Rs 150 Bn for Andhra Pradesh
Lokesh conveyed gratitude on behalf of the state's residents towards the NDA government for committing Rs 150 billion in the budget towards the reconstruction and development of Andhra Pradesh. Sitharaman emphasized the Central government's commitment to supporting the development of Amaravati, allocating Rs 150 billion for this purpose in the current fiscal year. She reiterated the government's dedication to funding and expediting the Polavaram Irrigation project, essential for the welfare of Andhra Pradesh and its agricultural sector.
The Finance Minister highlighted that the government has endeavored to fulfill the commitments outlined in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, including the provision of financial assistance for infrastructure development such as water, power, railways, and roads to promote industrial growth. She affirmed that grants specified for backward regions of Rayalaseema, Prakasam North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, as mandated by the Act, would also be disbursed.
