BDA unveils Rs 979.5 mn plan to upgrade infra in Arkavathy Layout

Great news for individuals who have built or plan to build their dream homes in Arkavathy Layout! The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) has initiated a tender for the enhancement of roads within the area, aiming to establish essential infrastructure within the next nine months. The current lack of proper roads, street lights, underground drainage, and water supply has posed significant challenges for existing homeowners in the layout.

To address these issues, the BDA has committed to developing the roads across 12 villages within Arkavathy Layout, with an estimated cost of Rs 979.5 million. The short-term tender notification specifies that the road development and asphalt work must be completed within nine months, accounting for the monsoon season, starting from the commencement date of the project.

Specific allocations for road development include Rs 100 million for the 19th block at Bellakere village, Rs 20 million for the eighth, 10th, and 11th blocks at Srirampura and Dasarahalli, and Rs 40 million for the 11th block. Additionally, Rs 70 million has been designated for the fifth, sixth, and 17th blocks at K Narayanapura village, Rs 42.5 million for the third and eighth blocks at Venkateshapura, and Rs 160 million for the first, second, seventh, and eighth blocks at Jakkur village.

Further allocations include Rs 195 million for the second and third blocks at Sampigehalli, Rs 81 million for the 18th block at Byrathikhane, and Rs 50 million for the 20th block at Hennur village. The BDA has also set aside Rs 50 million for the 16th and 17th blocks at Geddalahalli and Rs 171 million for the fourth, fifth, sixth, 14th, 15th, and 20th blocks at Thanisandra.

The deadline for submitting tender forms is February 19. Homeowners like KV Ramesh express their approval of the BDA's decision, emphasising the positive impact of road development for those who have already constructed houses in the area. Ramesh urges the BDA to expedite the completion of these crucial developmental works. Aravindan Jayaram, a resident near Thanisandra, mentions that other developmental projects, such as underground drainage and street lights, are already in progress, signalling a comprehensive improvement for Arkavathy Layout.
