Arunachal Pradesh sets up new body to improve infrastructure

The Arunachal Pradesh government is setting up a new body for improving infrastructural development. The government will be establishing Arunachal Pradesh Infrastructure Financing Authority.

The state cabinet plans to develop and inaugurate around 365 infrastructure projects from 20 January 2022 to 20 January 2023 which is the Golden Jubilee year period.

Chaired by Chief Minister, Pema Khandu, the state cabinet meeting was held in Ziro on the occasion of the launch of Arunachal Pradesh’s Golden Jubilee Celebrations as an independent identity.

A decision has been taken by the state cabinet to grant the ‘Arunachal Ratna’ or the state’s highest award based on the first Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Late K A A Raja due to his memorable contribution to the development and welfare of the state of Arunachal Pradesh.

The cabinet will be providing financial assistance to 500 top-performing women Self Help Groups via an FD (fixed deposit) worth Rs 1 lakh each for strengthening the social capital base. 300 Primary Level Federations will each be provided a Rs 2 lakh capital subsidy deposit for procuring goods transport vehicles by their individual constituent SHGs.

The cabinet will be formulating District Level Good Governance Index via engaging a knowledge partner with prior experience to strengthen overall development and improvement in the lifestyle of the citizens.

The cabinet is aiming to construct as well as to inaugurate 365 physical infrastructure projects from 20 January 2022 to 20 January 2023- the Golden Jubilee year period. The cabinet will provide any APST student completing class XII, qualifying National Level Entrance Examination, and getting admission in the IITs, IIMs, NLUs, and AIIMSs with Rs 2 lakh and an additional Rs 5,000 to ‘Golden Jubilee Daughters’.
