Amit Shah Inaugurates Projects in Ahmedabad, Gujarat
Shri Amit Shah emphasised that these projects will set new milestones in the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency, bringing substantial improvements in infrastructure, employment, and business opportunities. Highlighting Gujarat’s rapid growth under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, he noted that the state is home to India’s largest green energy park in Kutch, Asia’s largest green city in Dholera, and the country’s second-longest expressway—the Surat-Chennai Expressway. Gujarat has also become a financial powerhouse with GIFT City, while transformative projects like the Ahmedabad-Mumbai Bullet Train and Rapid Rail between Bhuj and Ahmedabad are further enhancing connectivity. Shri Shah also praised India’s infrastructure expansion, stating that the country now has the second-largest road network, the third-largest metro rail network, and the fourth-largest rail network in the world. Additionally, 136 Vande Bharat trains are operational, and 97% of India's broad-gauge network is electrified.
In addition to infrastructure, the event marked a significant boost in healthcare development with the announcement of two new hospitals. A 500-bed state-of-the-art hospital in Sanand will provide 24x7 medical care for residents of Sanand and Bavla talukas, while a 300-bed government hospital in Kalol Taluka will bring advanced medical facilities closer to residents. Shri Shah assured that these hospitals will ensure world-class healthcare accessibility for the people of Gujarat.
Reflecting on India’s infrastructure boom under PM Modi, Shri Shah highlighted that the national highway network has expanded by 60% in the last 10 years, the length of four-lane highways has increased 2.5 times, and 36.5 km of highways are being constructed every day. He also pointed out that India now has 157 airports, greatly enhancing regional and international connectivity. He further stated that more development has taken place in the last 10 years under PM Modi than in the 70 years of all previous governments since independence.
With these transformative projects, Gujarat continues to set a benchmark for infrastructure, economic growth, and public welfare. The Modi government’s visionary leadership is turning India into a global infrastructure powerhouse, ensuring prosperity for all.
