bC India moves to Delhi for its next show! After two successful events in Mumbai, in its third edition this year, the bauma Conexpo show will be held at the India Expo Centre in Greater Noida from December 15-18. The international trade fair for construction machinery, building material machines, mining machines and construction vehicles, attracted a total of 710 companies from 33 countries and more than 28,000 trade visitors in its 2013 edition. While all eyes are on the business opportunities bC India 2014 will bring along, Igor Palka, CEO, bC Expo India Pvt Ltd shares details of the event and its focuses with CW.

What will be the highlights of the expo this year?
The theme for the event this year will be Quality makes the difference. It will be a compilation of various presentations, panel discussions and training sessions and will provide an international platform to exchange new ideas, recent experiences and discuss current developments. I am sure that our supportive associations will again contribute and hold interesting and well-casted seminars parallel to our exhibition.

Any specific reason for selecting Delhi as a venue this year? What is the total area of the expo?
India Expo Centre is considered one among Indias most modern trade-fair centres. We consider this to be a big improvement, as compared to the temporary hall structures we had to build up at the Bandra-Kurla Complex in Mumbai. The total available area is about 170,000 sq m of premium exhibition space, out of which 28,000 sq m will be dedicated to modern indoor exhibition space and 142,000 sq m to the presentation space outdoors. The event will cover at least 120,000 sq m.

What will make this expo different from its previous editions?
The market sentiments last year were low, which reflected in the decrease in construction equipment units sold. Also, with the new stable government in the Centre promising a turnaround in the construction and infrastructure sector, the mood is optimistic. Overall the Indian market sentiments are riding high. That said, this expo will be a perfect platform for companies to showcase their latest products, talk about recent developments and provide an insight into best solutions. We are expecting a higher footfall this year as compared to 2013. Also, with Delhi playing host to the exhibition, there is bound to be an increase in the number of international visitors and visitors from North India.

Introduce us to the international pavilions this year.
Exhibitors from more than 30 countries worldwide including national pavilions from China, Germany, Italy, Spain, Korea, the US and the UK will be participating this year.

What is the total number of exhibitors this year?
We are expecting a total number of about 700 companies to exhibit, of which a significant number of companies will be exhibiting for the first time, but the majority of our clients have been associated with us for the past two years.

What can a visitor expect at the bC India expo this year?
A full range of products, right from construction site equipment to machinery relevant to extraction and processing of raw materials, production of building materials and components and service suppliers will be on display this year. More highlights will be added by our exhibitors, which will again show their latest product developments and new machinery launches.

With the new governments focus on infrastructure, how do you view the current market for construction equipment in India?
The new government has a clear mandate and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a commendable track record going by his earlier stint as the Chief Minister of Gujarat. During our engagements across India with various stakeholders, we have heard great review about the infrastructure and development projects undertaken in Gujarat. Modi seems keen on growth in the infrastructure and construction sector, which will definitely help his plan to revive the Indian economy. Hence, we at bC India are looking forward to the Governments support in the form of cooperation and encouragement.
