Karnataka CM to personally monitor mega projects in Bengaluru
In an event in Bengaluru, he said that this mega project is more important than anything else.
He further said that he has decided to supervise the project's progress personally from the Chief Minister's office (CMO). Within 20 days, the dashboard will be ready to receive daily updates, and he will invest his first working hours in supervising the mega projects.
The mega projects include metro, outer ring road, and high-speed train coming from the international airport to the city.
The Bengaluru International Airport will have unique connectivity throughout the world, as it will be connected by metro, sub-urban, and high-speed trains.
Not only the infrastructure but the state government will also develop slums in the city to improve their standard of living. The city will also have health infrastructure, and the state will have 12 high-density roads to ease traffic and signalling with artificial intelligence (AI), Bommai said.
The state government has plans for the overall development of the city, including core areas under the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP). About 110 villages were also added to the plan and showcasing the Central Business District (CBD).
He said that Bengaluru could have another three to four CBD in the north, south, east and west.
Bangalore Metro should increase its passenger-carrying capacity. Bommai said that he had instructed the officials of the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMCL) to complete Phase II of the metro project by 2024, earlier than its deadline.
