Cybersecurity: CERT-In alerts MoRTH of intrusion attempt
CERT-In an emergency response team under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
MoRTH has advised National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (NHIDCL), National Informatics Centre (NIC), Indian Academy of Highway Engineers (IAHE), IRC, state public works department (PWD) and testing agencies and automobile manufacturers to conduct the security audit of the entire IT system by CERT-In certified agency regularly and take all actions as per their recommendations.
A prominent media source had earlier reported that at least one connection opened by Chinese state-sponsored hackers into the network system of an Indian port remained active, even as authorities blocked attempts to penetrate the country's electrical sector, quoting US cybersecurity firm Recorded Future.
The news agency had further reported that Chinese hackers group RedEcho had targeted as many as 10 entities under India's power grid and two maritime ports when the company first notified CERT-IN on 10 February, according to Recorded Future.
