MHADA to Extend Deadline for Konkan Board's Affordable Homes Lottery

The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA)'s Konkan Board is expected to extend the application deadline for its 12,000 affordable homes lottery, initially set for December 10, 2024. The extension announcement is likely to be made on December 2.

The homes are located across Thane city and district, including Kalyan, Titwala, Palghar, Raigad, and in the coastal areas of Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg’s Oras, Vengurla, and Malvan. MHADA has already received over 10,000 applications and is considering extending the deadline to accommodate more applicants.

The affordable homes in this lottery range from Rs 2 million to approximately Rs 10 million.

In addition to the Konkan Board's initiative, MHADA plans to launch another lottery for 2,000 to 3,000 affordable homes in Mumbai. "We are preparing for this and will announce details soon. We are also looking to award a contract for constructing 2,000 affordable homes on Patra Chawl land in Mumbai," said Sanjeev Jaiswal, MHADA's CEO and VP.

In November 2024, MHADA extended the application deadline for its 6,294 affordable homes under the Pune Board's lottery. Originally set for November 13, the new deadline is December 10, with the lottery results expected on January 7, 2025. These homes are located in Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, and the districts of Solapur, Kolhapur, and Sangli. The properties are priced between Rs 1 million and just over Rs 10 million.

Of the 6,294 homes, 2,340 are offered under a first-come, first-serve scheme, along with 418 flats under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).
