BSL to raze over 100 houses on October 12

The Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) has issued a public notice, signaling its intent to dismantle over 100 unauthorized houses situated in the Sector 4 area of the city. In preparation for this anti-encroachment drive, the district administration has deployed a magistrate, and the demolition of these illegal structures is scheduled for Thursday.

It is noteworthy that this locality had recently gained attention when squatters launched an attack on the BSL anti-encroachment team. This confrontation occurred as the team was in the process of removing an illicit concrete structure that had been erected in close proximity to the Sector 4 police station.

Manikant Dhan, Chief of Communication at BSL, affirmed, "The orders for eviction and demolition of unauthorized occupants, pertaining to BSL land, have been issued. However, despite the expiration of the permissible period stipulated in these orders, the unauthorized occupants have not vacated the premises."

The anti-encroachment drive is a part of ongoing efforts to reclaim and preserve land under the jurisdiction of Bokaro Steel Plant, addressing issues of unauthorized occupation and illegal structures.
