Bengaluru Body to Develop Six More Layouts under PRR-2 Project

The Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA) has announced plans to develop six new layouts as part of the Peripheral Ring Road-2 (PRR-2) project. In order to achieve this, the BDA is preparing to acquire land from various villages in the region.

An official stated that preliminary notifications for land acquisition for the proposed layouts aligned with the PRR-2 project had not yet been issued. The BDA had instructed teams, led by land acquisition officers, to identify suitable land in the villages, coordinate with engineers, and gather necessary details such as land ownership, plot dimensions, maps, and other records.

Approximately 3,000 hectares of government and private land will be acquired for the project, subject to ongoing surveys. The areas identified for acquisition include BM Kaval, Gulikamale, Kaggalipura, OB Choodanahalli, Agara, Uttari, Devagere, Gudimavu, and Kambipura Gangasandra, among others. Farmers whose land is acquired will receive compensation under the 40:60 ratio model.

Under this plan, 40 per cent of the compensation for landowners will be provided as developed plots in the new layouts created by the BDA. According to BDA rules, landowners will be allotted plots in the same layout. The pricing for these plots will be determined after the development is completed. The BDA is targeting the creation of 50,000 new sites to meet the high demand for residential plots. The success of this initiative is expected to enhance urban infrastructure and provide a boost to Bengaluru’s real estate market, the official added.
