At Wolffkran, we build more than just cranes. We develop machines that people should enjoy working with. For this year’s bauma, we are equipping the WOLFF pack with new electronic and digital skills with the goal of making crane operation easier, more intuitive, and safer: The enhanced WOLFF Crane Control System and the in-house WOLFF Cam hook camera.

The updated WOLFF Crane Control System takes usability and safety to the next level. The new high-resolution, 10-inch display is horizontally oriented, offering a user-friendly handling experience similar to a tablet or smartphone. The menu structure is streamlined and easy to navigate. The intuitive icons and symbols make it easy to configure the crane for the construction site and start working immediately.

Crane operators can personalise the user interface, create their own profile and choose from six languages and regional measurement units. The new display provides different views for various users. Crane operators, service personnel, or IT specialists will all get the relevant information they need.

In addition to standard crane management data, WOLFF Crane Control provides a direct interface to the WOLFF Link fleet management system. Users can access detailed diagnostic profiles for the entire crane fleet. Thanks to state-of-the-art data transmission via Profinet, the system continuously records operational and error data, generating documentation and maintenance reports. Errors can be quickly identified and resolved, ensuring smoother crane operation and reduced downtime. With just a few clicks, crane operators can access essential data sheets and manuals. A magazine-style design allows users to jump directly to the required page, thus eliminating endless scrolling.

WOLFF Crane Control is built on the latest generation of Siemens Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). With increased computing power and improved stability, WOLFF cranes respond faster to commands and execute movements with greater precision. The processor constantly monitors all safety-related parameters, such as crane movements and load handling. In the event of a hazardous situation, it automatically shifts the crane into a safe operating mode.

The new PLC system integrates the optional WOLFF High-Speed Positioning System (WOLFF HiSPS) and includes a data interface for anti-collision systems. Both systems can be managed directly via the display. Future developments will also introduce graphical enhancements for swing area restrictions.

The newly designed display also supports a live feed from WOLFF Cam, making its bauma debut this year. WOLFF Cam expands the crane operator’s field of vision, ensuring the load remains visible, even in poor visibility conditions.

As Wolffkran leaves nothing to chance, WOLFF Cam is the first hook camera developed directly by the manufacturer. It is not only seamlessly integrated into the WOLFF Crane Control System but also perfectly fits into the crane’s hardware. WOLFF Cam is mounted on the hook block, can be installed within the WOLFF HiSPS sensor box, and connects using the same adapter.

For WOLFF cranes without HiSPS or the latest WOLFF Crane Control System, the camera can still be installed separately and operated with its own display. With two rechargeable batteries, WOLFF Cam ensures up to 20 hours of operation.

WOLFF Crane Control and WOLFF Cam will be introduced gradually from mid-2025 across all WOLFF models. These innovations not only enhance efficiency but also make operating a WOLFF crane an even more enjoyable experience. The result is a work environment where efficiency, safety and satisfaction are perfectly aligned.
