i2Cool, a leader in electricity-free cooling technology, has announced a strategic partnership with Marubeni, one of Japan’s largest trading companies. The agreement aims to accelerate global adoption of sustainable cooling solutions, particularly in the shipping industry and Japanese market.

The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Martin Zhu, CEO and Co-founder of i2Cool, alongside Marubeni executives Yasuhiro Arai and Yasuke Nagai. Zhu emphasized Japan’s strong demand for environmental sustainability, stating that the collaboration would drive localized production and adaptation to Japanese industrial standards.

i2Cool’s i2Coating technology, already deployed in 200+ projects worldwide, offers surface cooling up to 42?C and reduces air conditioning energy consumption by 10% to 40%. Applied in landmarks such as Dubai Mall and Hong Kong Coliseum, it has gained recognition for its efficiency and simplicity.

Under the partnership, both firms will develop next-gen marine coatings to improve solar reflection and infrared radiation on ships, reducing cabin temperatures and energy use.

Looking ahead, i2Cool and Marubeni plan to expand research, explore new applications, and drive market growth, reinforcing their commitment to energy efficiency and climate change mitigation.
