Hyundai enters the dozer market with the HD100

Hyundai is following its sister company Develon into the dozer market with the debut of the HD100, a robust machine boasting 122 horsepower and weighing 10 metric tonne.

Sharing specifications with Develon's DD100, which launched in December 2021, Hyundai's new offering underscores its expansion strategy. Develon further solidified its presence with the introduction of the DD130, a 157-horsepower, 13-metric-ton dozer, showcased at ConExpo 2023. Both Hyundai and Develon operate independently under the Hyundai Genuine umbrella.

The introduction of the HD100 augments Hyundai's existing lineup of earthmoving equipment, which includes wheel loaders, hydraulic excavators, articulated dump trucks, skid steers, compact track loaders, and specialized material handling gear. The models are already available at dealerships across the United States.

Weighing in at 23,589 pounds, the HD100 is equipped with a 4-cylinder Hyundai G2 DM03 Tier 4 Final diesel engine, ensuring powerful performance. Its hydrostatic transmission allows for precise control of speed and torque, emphasizing ease of operation. Notably robust within its class, the HD100 stands out for its superior tractive capability and power-to-weight ratio, as highlighted by Hyundai product manager David Spooner.

The machine's cab is designed for optimal visibility with extensive glass panels and minimized cab pillars. Hyundai relocated the electronic cooling system to the rear of the machine and integrated inline pre-cleaners beneath the narrow front hood for streamlined functionality. Standard features include a rearview camera, high-illumination LED lights, and four premium wiper blades.

The HD100's six-angle, variable-pitch dozer blade offers a maximum angle of 25 degrees and boasts a standard capacity of 2.9 cubic yards. A blade float function enhances precision in fine finishing and back grading operations. The 2D Smart Blade assist function, included as standard, simplifies precision grading tasks. Additionally, customers have the option to order the HD100 Trimble 3D grade-control ready directly from the factory.
