Atlas Copco Group has inaugurated a 270,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Talegaon, Pune, enhancing its production capacity for air and gas compressors, including CNG, biogas, and hydrogen compressors, as well as air dryers, N2 and O2 generators, and medical filtration systems. Announced in 2023, the facility underscores the Group’s commitment to innovation and high-quality, localized manufacturing.
Built on Industry 4.0 principles, the plant integrates smart technologies and sustainability initiatives. Around 80 per cent of its energy needs will be met through a 1.3 MW rooftop solar system and grid supply, alongside rainwater harvesting and advanced cooling systems. Equipped with extensive testing capabilities, the facility supports Atlas Copco’s R&D efforts, ensuring efficiency and product development for evolving market demands. It holds ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001 certifications, maintaining top-tier quality, safety, and environmental standards.
“This new facility enhances local production, reducing lead times and expanding capacity. It enables us to offer a broader range of products while strengthening lifecycle support for our customers,” said Philippe Ernens, President, Compressor Technique Business Area.
Thierry Monart, Vice President & MD, Atlas Copco (India), added, “This milestone reinforces our commitment to localization, job creation, and skill development, contributing meaningfully to India’s manufacturing ecosystem.”
