Welspun Specialty Wins Rs 2.31 Bn Bid for BHEL’s Power Projects

Welspun Specialty Solutions (WSSL) has emerged as the lowest bidder for a supply contract from Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL), Trichy, for the provision of approximately 4,050 tonne of stainless steel seamless boiler tubes. These tubes will be used in a series of supercritical thermal power projects.

The contract, valued at around Rs 2.31 billion (excluding GST), will be officially awarded once BHEL completes its internal approval process. WSSL secured this position after undergoing a comprehensive evaluation and approval process conducted by BHEL.

This development marks a significant achievement for WSSL, as the contract reinforces the company’s position in the stainless steel seamless boiler tube segment, which plays a crucial role in the energy sector. The successful bid also highlights WSSL’s technical capabilities and adherence to stringent quality standards required for critical power infrastructure.

The formal contract is expected to be issued following the completion of BHEL’s internal procedures. Once finalised, the agreement will contribute to the supply chain for India's supercritical thermal power projects, ensuring a steady and reliable source of high-quality boiler tubes for the sector. g
