Sembcorp Wins 300 MW Wind-Solar Hybrid Project from NTPC
The statement further mentioned that Sembcorp, via its wholly-owned renewables subsidiary, Sembcorp Green Infra, has received a Letter of Award (LOA) for the 300 MW Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) connected wind-solar hybrid power project from NTPC.
It was noted that the power generated from the project, once completed, will be sold to NTPC under a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA), subject to the execution of the agreement. The project is expected to be operational within 24 months from the signing of the PPA and will be financed through a combination of internal funds and debt.
Since November 2023, Sembcorp has secured nearly 2 GW of greenfield projects, bringing its total renewable capacity in India to 5.4 GW. With this, the company’s global renewables capacity now stands at 16 GW, which includes a pending 49 MW acquisition.
The company stated that the award of this project is part of its regular business activities and is not anticipated to significantly impact its earnings per share or net tangible assets per share for the financial year ending December 31, 2024.
Additionally, nominations for the ET MSME Awards were announced, with the final date for submissions being November 30, 2024. Interested participants were encouraged to submit entries for any of the 22 award categories for a chance to win a prestigious recognition.
