Renew, Tata Power Among Winners in SJVN’s 1.2 GW FDRE Auction

Renew Solar Power, EG Energy Development (Enfinity Global), Dineshchandra R Agrawal Infracon, Serentica Renewables India, and Tata Power Renewable Energy have secured SJVN’s auction for 1,200 MW ISTS-connected firm and dispatchable renewable energy projects.
Of the total 448 MW awarded, Renew Solar won 100 MW at a tariff of Rs 4.82/kWh, EG Energy 60 MW at Rs 4.83/kWh, Dineshchandra 100 MW at Rs 4.86/kWh, Serentica 100 MW at Rs 4.89/kWh, and Tata Power 88 MW at Rs 4.91/kWh.
The tender, floated in July 2024, also offered a greenshoe capacity of up to 1,200 MW, with bid sizes ranging from 50 MW to 600 MW. Projects will use established, operational technologies to minimise risk and ensure timely commissioning, following government guidelines for wind turbines, solar modules, and balance of systems. The annual capacity utilization factor must be at least 75%.
In November 2024, Hero Solar Energy, Ganeko Solar (Zelestra), Juniper Green Energy, ReNew, and Avaada won SJVN’s FDRE II auction for 1,200 MW of renewable energy with storage, offering tariffs of Rs 4.25/kWh and Rs 4.26/kWh.
