REIL floats tenders to procure 7,000 solar modules made from PERC solar cells

Rajasthan Electronics and Instruments Limited (REIL), a joint enterprise between the government of India and the government of Rajasthan, has invited proposals to obtain 7,000 solar modules with a wattage output of 380 W to 390 W made from 72 monocrystalline or mono passivated emitter and rear cell (PERC) solar cells.

The deadline to present the proposals is November 19, 2021. Tenders will be opened on the next day.

Bidders are not needed to pay an earnest money deposit. Successful bidders are needed to provide a performance bank guarantee for 5% of the contract cost.

The successful bidder must present the modules before December 15, 2021, in three lots from the agreement’s starting date.

The performance of the modules should be over 18%. The modules should be 100% potential-induced degradation tolerant and comply with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC)-62804.

The cells utilised for module making should be free from all errors such as edge chipping, breakages, printing defects, and discoloration of the top surface.

The modules should furnish satisfactorily in relative humidity up to 85% and temperatures between -10°C and +50°C. The modules must be designed to withstand wind speeds of up to 130 km per hour.

The peak power point voltage and the peak power point current of any supplied module should not vary by over 2% from the respective arithmetic mean of all modules or module strings.

The glass used to make the modules should be toughened low iron glass with a minimum thickness of 3.2 per 4.0 mm for a 72-cell module. The glass used must have a transmittance of more than 90%. The glass should have a bending of less than 0.3%.

Only Indian solar module manufacturers registered under the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) or their approved dealers or distributors will be eligible to take part in the bidding process.

The successful bidder must render a warranty of ten years from the date of sale to REIL against production defects and failures.

The peak output capacity of the solar modules should not be less than 90% of its rated power after ten years and 80% after 25 years from the date of final commissioning of the project.

Last month, in a similar bid, REIL floated tenders for 7,000 solar modules of minimum 380 W to 390 W made from 72 monocrystalline or mono PERC solar cells.

Earlier, REIL had floated tenders for contract production of 6,500 polycrystalline solar photovoltaic modules.
