Rajasthan to Develop 2,000 MW Solar Park with Central Support

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi announced a 2,000 MW solar park project in Rajasthan, with 30% central financial assistance, during the 'Rising Rajasthan: Transition towards a Sustainable Energy Economy' Summit in Jaipur. The project will be developed by the Rajasthan Solar Development Corporation.
Rajasthan, a national leader in renewable energy with an installed capacity of 30.31 GW, is set to further expand its solar power capacity, which currently stands at 24.55 GW. Joshi lauded the state’s new Integrated Clean Energy Policy 2024, which targets 125 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, contributing to the national goal of 500 GW by the same year.
The minister also emphasized the importance of expediting initiatives like the PM Surya Ghar Yojana and the state's Green Hydrogen Policy to strengthen Rajasthan's position in emerging green technologies.
