PM To Lay Foundation Stones for Development Works In Anakapalli
The district administration is making extensive preparations for the foundation laying ceremony of the bulk drug park. The drug park iis expected to employ around 20,000 people either directly or indirectly.
Anakapalli district collector Vijaya Krishnan that the district administration has got a tentative schedule of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit but added that they are yet to get a confirmed schedule from the officials concerned.
As per the initial plan, the Kakinada area in the undivided East Godavari district was considered for the bulk drug park. However, the central govt advised the state to set up a Bulk Drug Park where govt lands are available. Meanwhile, the state govt acquired around 4,500 acres through APIIC for the special economic zone (SEZ) at Nakkapalli mandal in Anakapalli district.
The AP govt proposed to allot 2,000 acres for the bulk drug park, and the central govt gave the green signal. According to sources, the bulk drug park would be set up on around 800 acres, and more than 1,200 acres would be allotted to roads, drains, drinking water, and other basic amenities, including effluent plants. As part of providing basic amenities, work started on more than 200 acres in Rajayyapeta village. Now, the coconut plantations are being removed by JCBs.
