Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has issued a tender for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of a 2.01 MW solar project at 35 locations within its Uran thermal project in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra.

The deadline for bid submission is March 18, 2025, with the bid opening scheduled for March 19. The project is required to be completed within 240 days from the award date.

The scope of work includes the installation of rooftop, bus port, shed, and solar tree systems. It covers design, engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and supply of equipment and materials, along with erection, testing, and commissioning of grid-connected solar power systems. Additionally, the selected contractor will be responsible for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of the project for 10 years, with the possibility of extending it up to 15 years.

Interested bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 2.75 million and provide an EPC performance guarantee amounting to 10 per cent of the contract value. An additional bank guarantee of 3 per cent of the total O&M cost for 10 years is also required. The O&M charges for the first year must be quoted at a minimum of Rs 1.5 million, with an obligatory annual increment of at least 3 per cent.

Power evacuation for the project will be conducted at 415 V at a low-tension level. The module mounting structures must be designed for an optimal seasonal or fixed tilt angle to achieve the guaranteed net energy generation. All solar modules must be procured from the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers.

In December 2024, ONGC had floated a tender for the O&M of 1.54 MW grid-connected solar systems across 19 sites under its Mehsana asset in Gujarat. Additionally, it issued a tender for developing 1,000 MW captive wind-solar hybrid power projects (500 MW solar + 500 MW wind) at various locations across India.
