NTPC REL Invites Bids for Land & Power Evacuation for 300 MW Solar

NTPC Renewable Energy (NTPC REL) has issued a tender for land and power evacuation infrastructure to facilitate the development of 300 MW interstate transmission system-connected solar projects with battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Rajasthan. The deadline for bid submission is April 18, 2025, with the opening scheduled on the same day.

Participating bidders are required to submit a document fee of Rs 22,500 along with a bid security deposit of Rs 20 million. The selected contractors must arrange land, either freehold or leasehold, in proximity to the 300 MW Nokhra Solar project of NTPC Green Energy in Rajasthan. The lease agreement should have a minimum duration of 29 years and 11 months.

The scope of work includes the design, engineering, erection, testing, and commissioning of an AIS pooling substation along with a 33 kV switchgear system to enable the interconnection between the 300 MW solar project and the 300 MW BESS.

Eligible bidders should have prior experience in securing land for solar, wind, or hybrid energy projects with a cumulative capacity of at least 100 MW, including at least one project of 50 MW or more. Alternatively, bidders must have completed an industrial project in the power, steel, oil, gas, or petrochemical sectors valued at a minimum of Rs 20 million as a developer or engineering, procurement, and construction contractor. Additionally, they must have executed at least one electrical substation of 33 kV or higher.

Eligible renewable energy projects must have been operational for at least six months, while industrial solar and wind projects should have been running for at least a year. Bidders should also demonstrate an average annual turnover of Rs 220 million over the past three years and maintain a positive net worth in the last financial year.

In addition, NTPC REL has invited bids for a land and power evacuation package for 600 MW solar projects in Tumkur, Karnataka, with a submission deadline of April 4, 2025.
