NTPC REL Inks MoU for Green Hydrogen Mobility at Kandla Port
The agreement was formalised in the presence of Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, and MLA Maltiben Maheshwari, along with senior representatives from NTPC and DPA.
Through this initiative, NTPC REL aims to replace fossil fuel-powered buses at the port with clean and green energy alternatives, supporting decarbonization efforts and enhancing energy security.
NTPC has been operating a green hydrogen blending project in Surat, Gujarat, for over two years and has implemented similar mobility projects in Leh, Ladakh; Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh; and Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Additionally, the company is working on establishing a green hydrogen hub in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, as part of its strategy to achieve 60 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2032.
