NGSL to build a balance of systems for 325-MW solar projects

Engineering firm NTPCGE Power Services has been awarded contracts to develop a balance of systems for two power projects totalling 325 MW at Madhya Pradesh's Shajapur Solar Park. NTPCGE Power Services reportedly has received two awards from NTPC Renewable Energy Limited for engineering, procurement, and construction of the balance of system at two sites with 105 MW and 220 MW capacity, respectively, as well as operation and maintenance for three years. At a solar energy plant, the 'balance of system' includes all of the supporting equipment utilised in the installation and operation of the main power generation unit. The projects are located in Madhya Pradesh's Shajapur Solar Park, which is being constructed by Rewa Ultra Mega Solar. Solar energy generated by these facilities will be fed into the Indian Railways system and the national grid. The initiative also contributes to the Indian government's overarching aim to cut greenhouse gas emissions and pave the way for India to meet its net-zero emission objective by 2070.
