The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has rolled out the second phase of the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) for solar modules in India. This initiative aims to strengthen domestic solar manufacturing by ensuring that only high-quality products are used in government projects. The updated ALMM includes a list of manufacturers that meet rigorous standards, promoting local production in line with India's renewable energy targets.

The first phase, launched in 2021, successfully encouraged domestic manufacturers, and the second phase is expected to build on that momentum. By mandating the use of approved models, MNRE aims to bolster the reliability and efficiency of solar installations across the country.
