Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL) has invited bids to procure power from 250 MW of grid-connected wind power projects, with an additional greenshoe option of 250 MW, to be developed in Gujarat. The deadline for bid submissions is February 11, 2025, and bids will be opened on February 14.
Bidders are required to pay a bid document fee of Rs 25,000 plus GST, along with a tender processing fee of Rs 300,000 plus 18% GST. They must also submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 1.3 million per MW and a performance bank guarantee of Rs 3.2 million per MW.
The project must be designed for interconnection with the state or central transmission utility via a dedicated transmission line, delivering energy at the Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation periphery.
Bidders are expected to use commercially established and operational wind turbine technologies listed in the revised list by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. They must also establish the power transmission infrastructure up to the interconnection point and maintain it for grid connectivity.
The renewable energy generating station should support dynamically varying reactive power to maintain a power factor within the range of 0.95 lagging to 0.95 leading.
Bidders will be responsible for securing the necessary land for the project and must maintain a minimum capacity utilisation factor of 22%. Shortfalls in energy generation will require compensation up to 50% of the power purchase tariff.
In addition to this, GUVNL had earlier issued bids in August 2024 for 500 MW of grid-connected solar power projects and in July 2024 for 500 MW of wind power projects (Phase VIII), both with a greenshoe option for an additional 500 MW.
