Classic Signages Wins NVVN’s 6.3 MW Solar Project Bid

Jaipur-based Classic Signages has secured NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam’s (NVVN) auction to develop a 6.32 MW solar project in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, valued at Rs 214.69 million. The tender, issued in October 2024, includes 3.92 MW of rooftop and 2.4 MW of ground-mounted solar installations at NTPC’s Simhadri and Ramagundam stations.
The project will use 540 Wp modules from the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers, featuring 20% efficiency and a five-year warranty. These modules are guaranteed to retain at least 90% of their peak watt capacity after ten years and 80% after 25 years.

In 2024, NVVN also invited bids for a 25.65 MW rooftop solar project across government buildings in Delhi and neighboring states, including facilities under Delhi Police. Another 4.73 MW grid-connected rooftop solar tender was floated for multiple locations under the Bhakra Beas Management Board.

By the end of December 2024, solar power accounted for 21.2% of India’s total installed power capacity and 46.8% of its renewable capacity. India’s solar capacity saw a 10.5% quarter-over-quarter rise and a 57.2% year-over-year (YoY) increase. The country added 16.4 GW of solar capacity in the first nine months of 2024, marking a 167% YoY jump from 6.2 GW in 9M 2023, driven by the commissioning of delayed projects.
