BHEL floats tender for 20 MW solar project in Gujarat

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has invited bids for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of National Thermal Power Corporation's (NTPC) 20 MW grid-connected solar power project at Gandhar, Gujarat, for three years at Rs 38.66 million.

The deadline to submit the bids is 30 May 2022 and will be opened on the same day.

Bidders must submit Rs 773,000 as an earnest money deposit. The successful bidder must pay 5% of the project cost as a security deposit.

The project work includes O&M of the solar project up to 220 kV side of 33/220 kV grid-tie transformer and 220 kV bay. The winning bidder must ensure the project has optimum energy generation. The bidder must also provide breakdown maintenance and preventive maintenance overhauls and visit O&M experts when required.

Daily work includes logging the project voltage, current, power factor, power and energy output, and individual array output data. The winning bidder must keep track of the monthly energy output of each array and transformer and prepare reports as per the performance.

Interested bidders must have executed three similar projects of each not less than Rs 15.46 million or two similar projects each of not less than Rs 19.33 million, or one similar projects of not less than Rs 30.93 million.

For participating in the bidding, the bidders must have an average annual financial turnover of at least 30% of the project cost in the last three financial years (FYs). The bidders must enclose the audited balance sheet and profit and loss account or turnover certificate from a CA for the last three FYs.

If the O&M work fails to start within two weeks, a penalty of 0.5% per week of delay will be levied on the vendor.

BHEL has also invited bids for designing, supplying, installing and commissioning the balance of systems for a 5 MW grid-connected solar power project in Madhya Pradesh.

BHEL has invited bids for O&M of NTPC’s 22 MW floating solar power project at Kayamkulam, Kerala, for three years.
