Adani, AMPIN, Jindal Among Winners of NTPC’s Wind-Solar Hybrid Auction
JSP Green secured 350 MW with a tariff of Rs 3.38 ($0.0395)/kWh.
Adyant Enersol, Green Prairie Energy IV, and AMPIN Energy Utility each won 150 MW, 200 MW, and 150 MW respectively, at a tariff of Rs 3.44 ($0.0402)/kWh.
Adani Renewable Energy Holding Twelve was awarded 350 MW at Rs 3.44 ($0.0402)/kWh under the bucket-filling approach.
The auction tender was issued in August this year.
The minimum project size was fixed at 50 MW, with additional increments in multiples of 10 MW. A single bidder could secure a maximum capacity of 600 MW, excluding the extra capacity from the greenshoe option.
Bidders were required to maintain a 30% capacity utilisation factor for their projects.
The wind turbines must be of type-certified models listed in the Revised List of Models and Manufacturers by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), and the solar modules must be included in MNRE’s List-I for Approved Models and Manufacturers.
In July 2024, NTPC awarded Juniper Green Energy, JSW Neo Energy (JSW Energy), TEQ Green Power (O2 Power), Adyant Enersol (Datta Infra), and Avaada Energy with a 1,000 MW auction for ISTS-connected wind-solar hybrid power projects under Tranche VI.
In April 2024, NTPC awarded Sprng Energy, AMPIN Energy Transition, Juniper Green Energy, ReNew Solar Power, and Avaada Energy for the supply of 1,000 MW power from ISTS-connected wind-solar hybrid power projects under Tranche V.
