NTPC signs pact to install 325 MW solar power projects

National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) told the media that its arm NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (REL) had signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) and other agreements with the Indian Railways, MP Power Management Company Ltd (MPPMCL) and Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL).

NTPC said that NTPC REL had signed a PPA with Indian Railways, MPPMCL and RUMSL for 325 MW solar power projects installed in RUMSL at Shajapur Solar Park in Madhya Pradesh.

This year on 25 November, the PPA was signed in the presence of the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chauhan and Minister of Power and New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), R K Singh.

NTPC REL has won a capacity of 105 MW quoted Rs 2.35 per kWh, and 220 MW capacity quoted Rs 2.33 per kWh for 450 MW solar power projects at Shajapur Solar Park in Madhya Pradesh in RUMSL's auction, which was held on 19 July.

NTPC won six more bids for renewable energy capacity through competitive biddings. NTPC REL was floated to develop renewable energy projects.
