INOX wins contract to build Bahamas’ first Mini LNG terminal

INOX India (INOXCVA) has secured a significant contract with Island Power Producers Limited (IPP) to design, engineer, and supply a Mini LNG receiving and regasification terminal in The Bahamas. This will be the first such facility in the country and will provide natural gas to IPP's 60 MW power plant, supplying shore power to cruise ships docked at Nassau Cruise Port.

The terminal will feature 10 vacuum-insulated LNG tanks, each with a 1,500 m3 capacity, and a state-of-the-art regasification system. This project is the largest order in INOXCVA’s LNG division to date. The terminal will also serve as a model for LNG distribution in remote locations, promoting cleaner energy sources in the region.

Once operational, the terminal will help the Bahamas meet its carbon reduction goals and support the growing adoption of LNG as a low-carbon fuel for power generation. This project comes on the heels of a similar LNG terminal completion in Antigua.
