State-run Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) has signed a strategic term contract with TotalEnergies Trading Asia Pte Ltd for the supply of Middle Eastern crude oil, strengthening its energy security and diversifying its crude sourcing portfolio.
Announced at India Energy Week (IEW) 2025, the agreement will be in effect from April 2025 to March 2026, ensuring a stable and competitive supply of crude oil to BPCL’s refineries. The deal highlights BPCL’s proactive approach to navigating global energy markets while maintaining supply chain resilience. It also opens avenues for broader collaboration between BPCL and TotalEnergies in the global energy sector.
Meanwhile, TotalEnergies has also signed a long-term Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) for LNG supply. Under the ten-year contract starting in 2026, TotalEnergies will provide GSPC with 4,00,000 tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) annually.
The LNG, sourced from TotalEnergies’ global portfolio and delivered to India’s west coast terminals, will serve GSPC’s industrial customers and supply Indian households, businesses, and CNG stations, supporting the country’s growing clean energy demand.
