Ministry of Mines auctions strategic mineral blocks under ranche IV

The Union Ministry of Mines has auctioned eight critical and strategic mineral blocks across five states under Tranche IV of its mineral auctions, bringing the total number of auctioned blocks to 22. Launched in June 2024, Tranche IV initially offered 21 mineral blocks, with 10 progressing to the second round of e-auctions, and eight blocks awarded. The blocks auctioned are located in Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh. Notably, four blocks from the North-East region, including Arunachal Pradesh, were auctioned for the first time.

Anti-dumping duty on welded stainless steel pipes and tubes from Vietnam and hailand
The Union Government has imposed an anti-dumping duty on imported welded stainless steel pipes and tubes imported from Vietnam and Thailand to safeguard the domestic steel industry from unfair trade practices. The decision comes after an investigation revealed that these products were being imported at below-market prices, thus causing material harm to India's domestic industry. The anti-dumping duty, effective immediately, will help to level the playing field for Indian producers, fostering a fair competitive environment. The duty, imposed for five years, varies from $ 246-307 per metric tonne, depending on the producer and country of origin.

Dilip Buildcon holds a 70.23 per cent stake in the implementation of the project. The project is expected to be completed in three years, and the corporation will secure a 10-year maintenance contract. Additionally, ITI Ltd, as the L1 bidder, was assigned Package No. 15, which covers the northeastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, and Manipur.

Telangana aims for 20,000 MW in green energy

Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka announced that the state government will soon unveil a new energy policy with a goal to generate 20,000 MW of green energy as part of its environmental conservation efforts. He also confirmed the Yadadri thermal power plant will complete construction by May 2025, adding 4,000 MW to the state’s power grid. During a visit to the Yadadri plant with Ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Vikramarka flagged off the transport of coal from Ramagundam to the Yadadri station. Deputy CM reviewed the ongoing progress with completion being stated by March 2025.

Jodhpur DISCOM issues tender for 333 MW solar projects

Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam (JDVVNL) has invited expressions of interest for setting up 333.5 MW of solar projects with 11 kV lines and remote monitoring systems under Component A of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evem Utthan Mahabhiyan (PM KUSUM) program. A bid security deposit of `100,000 per MW is required. Projects must be commissioned within nine months of receiving the work order, with developers providing 25 years of operation and maintenance services. The selected bidders will enter a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam.

Uttar Pradesh to build 700 km expressway

Marking Birsa Munda's 150th birth anniversary and 'Janjatiya Gaurav Divas,' Modi unveiled a commemorative coin and stamp and participated in the 'Grih Pravesh' for 11,000 tribal homes under PM-JANMAN. Key initiatives include 23 mobile medical units (MMUs) under PM-JANMAN, 30 MMUs under DAJGUA, 10 Eklavya Model Residential Schools, 300 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras, and two Tribal Freedom Fighters' Museums.
