Objektor reveals monolithic concrete cemetery
According to V"clav" uba, co-founder and partner of Objektor, the design aims to redefine the perception of cemeteries by eschewing the typical high walls often associated with such spaces, instead embracing an open, public ambiance. "Understanding the existing landscape was paramount," ?uba explains. "Our proposal seamlessly integrates with the site, utilizing horizontal elements to accentuate the presence of the chapel and the surrounding mature trees."
Guided by an existing trail that traverses between the historic chapel and cemetery, Objektor devised a grid system for the burial plots, ensuring future scalability without disrupting the site's coherence. The low-rise dividing walls not only facilitate the expansion of the cemetery but also preserve visual connectivity between the burial grounds and the encompassing environment.
