UtraTech Cement secure order of Rs 210.13 mn by Chhattisgarh Govt

UltraTech Cement, the foremost cement manufacturer in the country, announced that it had been issued a demand order of Rs 210.13 million by the Chhattisgarh government for failing to adhere to the minimum production requirements.

UltraTech stated that the demand order originated from the Collector of Balodabazar, Mining Department, Chhattisgarh, pertaining to an amount of Rs 210.13 million against the minimum production requirement stipulated in the Mine Development and Production Agreement (MDPA).

Regarding the alleged violations, the company mentioned that the production was not executed in accordance with the MDPA.

UltraTech operates a grey cement manufacturing unit in Baloda Bazar, Bhatapara, Chhattisgarh.

The company possesses a consolidated capacity of 146.2 million tonnes per annum of grey cement, positioning it as the third-largest cement producer globally, excluding China.
