JK Lakshmi joins forces with GreenLine Logistics to launch LNG fleet
With this collaboration, GreenLine will enable JK Lakshmi Cement to gradually decarbonise its road logistics operations over the next few years.
Starting with a fleet of 10 LNG trucks travelling from Sirohi in Rajasthan to Surat in Gujarat, the companies intend to significantly expand this over the next two years.
Each LNG truck saves approximately 35 tonne of CO2 emissions per year. JK Lakshmi Cement intends to reduce carbon emissions by switching to LNG-fuelled logistics, not only to meet environmental goals but also to improve ESG performance.
Trucks in India typically run on diesel. On long-distance routes, Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) is a less polluting alternative.
“JK Lakshmi Cement believes in sustainable & responsible growth that encompasses our society and the environment," announced Arun Shukla, President & Director, JK Lakshmi Cement.
