GreenLine Logistics deploys LNG truck at Dalmia Cement

GreenLine Logistics, an Essar Group company, announced on Friday that it has deployed Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd's first fleet of LNG trucks at its Chandrapur plant in Maharashtra. These trucks will be phased in at Dalmia Cement's plants in Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.

According to a statement, Dalmia Cement plans to transition 300 trucks to LNG by the end of FY24 as part of its green logistics strategy for decarbonizing its transportation fleet.

Dalmia Cement, a subsidiary of Dalmia Bharat Ltd and a leading Indian cement manufacturer, has partnered with GreenLine Logistics on this significant initiative to build a 'green' supply chain, with an initial order of 35 LNG trucks.

"We are proud to be the chosen partner of Dalmia Cement in their journey to decarbonise their heavy trucking," said Anand Mimani, CEO of GreenLine. "We will invest $2500 million to enable the transition of 10% of their fleet to LING by March 2024."

According to a spokesperson for Dalmia Cement, the company's overall CO2 emissions have decreased from 670 kg per tonne to 467 kg per tonne.
