GCCA India re-elects Parth Jindal as chair

The Global Cement & Concrete Association (GCCA) India has re-elected Parth Jindal, the managing director of JSW Cement, as its chair, and Deepak Khetrapal, the managing director of Orient Cement, as co-chair. Both have been re-elected for the next two years and will serve until 2026.

The report states that GCCA India, in collaboration with the Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), is in the process of developing the net zero CO2 roadmap for the Indian cement industry and its value chain.

Parth Jindal, the re-elected chair, expressed that it is really important to have a sectoral roadmap to align with the Indian government's net zero 2070 targets and to hopefully deliver on their commitments sooner. He mentioned that those commitments include decarbonisation levers like expanding the use of alternative fuels and raw materials, waste heat recovery from process gases for power generation, and increasing the use of renewable energy in the industry.
