Dalmia Bharat Begins Production at New 2.4 MTPA Grinding Unit in Assam

Dalmia Bharat (DBL) has commenced commercial production at its 2.4 MTPA cement grinding unit in Lanka, Assam, increasing its North-East capacity to 8 MTPA and its total India capacity to 49 MTPA. This expansion is part of the company’s Rs 36.42 billion investment plan announced in May 2023. The associated 3.6 MTPA clinker unit is expected to be commissioned by Q2 FY26.

Puneet Dalmia, MD & CEO, DBL, stated, “With this expansion, we become the largest cement manufacturer in North-East India, positioning ourselves to meet the region’s rising infrastructure demand.” DBL operates four plants in the Northeast and has contributed to key infrastructure projects such as the Dhola-Sadiya Bridge and Sela Tunnel. The company remains committed to sustainable growth through community welfare, skill development, and environmental initiatives.
