Cement Factory and Economic Corridor to Transform Malkangiri: CM Majhi
On a three-day visit to the southern districts, the CM outlined plans to industrialize Malkangiri and make it a key player among Odisha's districts. He highlighted the establishment of the cement plant as a major step in this direction.
Along with state and district officials, including School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond, Malkangiri MLA Narasingh Madkami, and others, Majhi reviewed various infrastructure projects in the region, such as railway and highway developments.
The state government plans a six-lane highway connecting Malkangiri to Tiring in Mayurbhanj, along with rail links connecting Malkangiri to Jeypore and Bhadrachalam. An express highway from Jeypore to Gopalpur port will form a vital economic corridor.
The CM emphasized the importance of expediting these projects and completing them on time. Additionally, the Malkangiri airport, which has already become operational, will soon be fully functional, helping the region’s connectivity.
During his visit, over 50,000 people gathered at DNK Ground for the cultural festivities of Malyabanta Mahostav, showcasing tribal dance performances such as Lavani and Chhau.
