Yogi Adityanath to Launch Microsoft Campus in Noida
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is set to visit Noida to launch several major projects, including the foundation stone laying of a new Microsoft campus in Sector 145, officials confirmed. Noida Authority CEO Lokesh M and other officials inspected the scheduled route and event venue to finalize preparations.
The Microsoft campus will be constructed on a five-acre plot in Noida's Sector 145. Additionally, Adityanath will inaugurate IT firm MAQ’s building and Sify’s campus, both located on five-acre plots in Sector 132. Public infrastructure projects, including two underpasses along the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, will also be initiated.
The highlight of the visit will be the launch of the Ganga Water Project, aimed at delivering quality drinking water to residential areas along the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. According to RP Singh, General Manager of the Noida Authority’s Water Works Department, “The chief minister will inaugurate the Rs 2.7 billion Ganga water project of 37.5 cusec capacity under which we will supply water from the Ganga to sectors 130 and 135. The chief minister will also inaugurate a tertiary treatment plant technology-based treatment facility with a daily capacity of 200 million litres.”
The current water demand in Noida stands at 332 million litres per day (MLD), with 240 MLD sourced from the Ganga and the rest from groundwater. The project aims to provide Ganga water to over 130 residential areas, with plans to extend coverage to another 50 areas by the end of 2024.
Furthermore, Adityanath is expected to address long-standing issues related to land acquisition and compensation for farmers. A survey of at least ten villages where a peripheral road is planned has been completed, and efforts to resolve issues concerning residential areas are underway. The Noida Authority has engaged a private agency to assist the land department in conducting the survey and preparing data for the chief minister’s review.
Officials hinted that Adityanath may also announce new schemes to address farmers' demands for better compensation and rehabilitation packages.
The chief minister will also attend a public gathering in Dadri, Greater Noida, where he will inaugurate a statue of Maharana Pratap.
