Wattsun Energy gets 1 MW, Enerture Tech wins 2 MW ANERT solar bids

The Agency for New and Renewable Energy Research and Technology (ANERT) has planned a series of tenders to install rooftop solar panels on 300 government buildings as part of the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation. These initiatives aim to equip various government departments, including education, all government schools, headquarters, and hospitals, with rooftop solar systems ranging from 2 kW to 2 MW. The release of these tenders took place in January 2023. For rooftop solar projects up to 50 kW, a total of 70 sites have been selected for the installation projects.

Solar panels have already been installed in a hundred buildings.

As part of the announced series of tenders, Wattsun Energy and Enerture Technologies have secured capacities of 1 MW and 2 MW, respectively, and emerged as the lowest bidders in the competitive bidding process.

Wattsun offered a quote of Rs 51,000 per kW, while Enerture Titanium offered a quote of Rs 48,490 per kW. The estimated cost for the 1 MW tender is over Rs 50 million, while for the 2 MW tender, it amounts to 90.75 million. In the 2 MW tender, 1.5 MW will be allocated for ground-mounted solar panels, while the remaining 0.5 MW will be dedicated to rooftop solar panels.

The 2 MW project will be implemented at HLL Lifecare, while the 2 MW project will be established at Travancore Titanium.

Previously, ANERT issued a Request for Selection (RFS) for an agency to implement a 2 MW solar power plant at Travancore Titanium Products, Kochuveli, Thiruvananthapuram, as part of the Solar City Project funded by Smart City Thiruvananthapuram.
